Wow, it has been ages since I have even been able to think about paper or cards. We did a flip-flop in our family due to the economy, and I have been in CNA training. I am also starting to knock away at some pre-reqs. for the local community college…

Hi Tina, I just visited your site. I like your collage cards. They look like they are fun to make. One thing I have noticed is that our cards sell the most when I send out an e-mail to all our friends telling them about items we have posted. Loyal…

You Know, I was JUST thinking about this. I have one card that I am listing with a big bunny. It is very cute. I list them as packs and singly. I personally can't list a zillion items...we did sell a couple Valentine's day cards, but I forgot about…

Will you look who is actually alive!

Wow, it has been ages since I have even been able to think about paper or cards.
We did a flip-flop in our family due to the economy, and I have been in CNA training.
I am also starting to knock away at some pre-reqs. for the local community college nursing
program. All this leaves me with little time to do much else, so etsy and paper have kind of had to
take a back seat.

This new step is really interesting as I have not really been in "mainstream" culture for MANY
years. Raising kids has you… Continue

Lent and the Greek Nun....

Lent started on Sunday for us. One of the fun things my children and I do, and will probably do today, is make a paper nun calendar. These are a bit like an advent calendar used to count down the days until Christmas. Our Greek Nun calendar, however, counts down the seven weeks of Lent. With each week, you tear off a foot, if the calendar is paper, or fold it up, if the calendar is cloth.

Recently, I painted a picture of one of these Greek Nuns. I had a fun time with her feet, giving her a diff… Continue

Chickens....Hens to chicks!

Well, I am really excited. Every year I get wound up to start the garden, and see how self sufficient we can be.
Along about August, I get tired of doing much of the work on my own. This year WILL be different! Check back in August for the truth, eh?

In our attempts at being better stewards and self sustaining, eight years ago we bought 9 chicks. I thought,
EGGS! Let's raise our own eggs. WE have loved having homegrown eggs, and the european earwig population in
our yard has declined significan… Continue

Lapbooking

Saturday we went to a local homeschool function. The plan was to lapbook. We have done this in the past and really enjoyed it, so we thought Saturday would be fun. It was, but in someways it didn't focus on the items we would have, so it wasn't as rewarding as if we had done all the work ourselves. We did glean some new ideas though.

Lapbooking is a creative way to put study and put together a report on any topic in or out of the world. You start out with a couple file folders or even cardstock… Continue

Full day....but good

Today was a full day-full of sugar, full of exercise, full of baking, full of life. It was good.

Isabel turned 9. I made a scavenger hunt for her with 9 clues in order for her to find her present. She has needed a new to her bike, so yesterday, we found one on craigslist. Good timing. Mark went and got it, then hid it at our neighbor's until Isabel was well asleep. He brought it over, and we covered it with a sheet in the front room.

When she woke up, Isabel had only one thing on her mind: Let… Continue

Hello, Sorry I did not get back to you, i just realized there were a bunch of new messages on my page, I always go to the main page and forget to check my page. We farm walnuts and are a very small family farm so all shortages effect us, b/c we have limited funds and resources. We are also in the process of going organic. Again sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for the compliments, Joanna! They're much appreciated! I'm looking forward to getting to know you more and reading up on your blog entries, but I'm on my way back home to hubby this week...1200 mile road trip from NY to Alabama...:) Such fun! I'll catch up, I promise!

Hi! Sorry for the delay in reply but I see you got all figured out (YAY!). I tend to do tabbed browsing so I just about always have the ning site up even when I'm not checking it. I don't want you to think I was ignoring you (lol). I'm so happy to see your active on the site. We definitely need people who are ready & willing to contribute....Thanks for that!

Thanks! I don't think I've ever seen a movie that lived up to the book. I know the stage show of Willy Wonka is a little different then the movie, but I don't know how it compares to the book. I'll have to find out. Congratulations to your daughter too. I'm sure she'll have fun.

My 12 year old daughter just got a part as an Oopma Loompa in Willy Wonka. She's SO excited! She didn't get a part in the last 5 shows she auditioned for, so it's definately her turn.

I love to sing just about anything, literally: country, classical choral, pop, classic rock, 80's, traditional Christian hymns, everything, just depends on my mood. I perform with our community theater, so lots of Broadway musicals too. I have 6 siblings and we love to sing together. I also sing with my kids. My husband is our biggest fan but doesn't join in : )

Wow, your cards are really wonderful! What talented kids you have. It's great that you can all do this together.

I LOVE to sing also, it's one of the things in life I can't imagine living without.
