I noticed a thread about this in the Forums on Etsy.....they were suggesting July 8th - July 23rd. Is anyone here participating in this? Did you participate in last year's?
I think this is a great idea! I will definitely be participating. Some of the paper I have available to make ornaments with is red and green so I'll have to get going on them. Thanks for the heads-up.
I think that it would be great if we could get a bunch of EtsyPaper members to participate in this! I am thinking that we can dedicate our promo thread during the week of July 13 - 19 to Christmas in July items. So, if you'd like to, go ahead and get those Christmas items made and we will promote it as much as possible that week!
I'm sure that I read in the Forums on Etsy that you could participate in the Christmas In July sale without necessarily having Christmas or holiday items. I think the more people in it...the better...Christmas items or not.
It's definitely a cool idea... but I wonder if people will actually buy Christmas items in July? I know I'm new to etsy, but doesn't seem like it would be a particularly hot sale. Worth a try, I suppose!
I think it's worth a try too. If sales are down...why not try something different to bring buyers in...?
As for whether people will buy Christmas items in July...I just think of all the times I went to different gift shops while vacationing in the summer...it seemed to me that an awful lot of people were looking at Christmas items no matter what the season. And think of all the people who have already started Christmas shopping...I haven't...but I would love to have gotten started. :):):)
I am one of those people who starts Christmas shopping really early. I know I'll be keeping my eyes open to see what things I can get for people for Christmas during the sale. Personally, I think I'm going to focus on moving my ornaments and making some Christmas themed ones. I am probably going to hold off on cards for a couple more months at least.
It's very easy. The Christmas In July event runs from July 8th through July 23rd). I put Christmas items in my shop and listed them in the section called "Christmas In July". (But you don't have to sell only holiday items...you can sell anything you want). I also mentioned that I was participating in the Christmas In July Event in my shop announcement...and don't forget to put either Christmas In July or CIJ in your item tags so buyers searching for Christmas In July can find you.
You can give your items sale prices if you wish....or offer free shipping...or any other sales incentive that you'd like. The first link below has the original information about Christmas In July. The second link is a listing for people participating. I hope these links work...you might have to cut and paste if they don't.
It's a laid back kind of a sale event...not a lot of hassle. Of course there's still no guarantees that a drove of buyers will find my shop...but I'd rather have fun in my shop with a Chrismas In July event than just sit and wait for buyers to find me.
I hope you decide to participate Carrie....."The more...the merrier!"
Hi everyone!
I wanted to create some inexpensive cards with my papercut designs emblazoned across them but without the company's logo across the back. Vistaprint and Overnightprints both would put their logo on the back as far as I can tell, and ...
